IRVING, Texas -- The University of Dallas men's soccer team lost at home against the Nelson University Lions (TX) on Friday, with a final score of 1-3. Dallas falls to 0-5 on the year.
The Crusaders were on their heels from the kickoff with Nelson University getting off 10 shots in the first period, and two goals under 25 minutes. Dallas was unable to get more than a single shot on goal in the first period due to the outright speed and physicality of the lions. Dallas had a consolation goal in the second period before things grew intense. There were multiple cards against both squads within the last 10 minutes of the game.
The Crusaders' Ryan Martinez had the single goal on a penalty kick.
