SEGUIN, Texas - The Austin College softball team kept No. 4-seeded Southwestern University of the scoreboard until the final inning of Saturday's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament elimination game, but the Pirates staged a two-out rally in the bottom of the seventh to top the 'Roos 3-2. Austin College finishes the season with an overall record of 18-22.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth, when Hannah King drew a walk and, in the very next at-bat, Carrie Johnson roped a double into the gap in left-center, bringing King all the way around to make it a 1-0 game. Austin College doubled its lead in the fifth, with a Chyrsi Hemby sacrifice fly bringing home Faith Butler to make it 2-0 and that's how things would stand heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Austin College pitcher Hailie Swiatkowski recorded the first two outs in the inning, but Southwestern finally managed to get on the board with a Riley Glenn-Millhouse RBI single cutting it to 2-1. Glenn-Millhouse advanced to second on the throw to the plate, with Ashtyn Aldrete also advancing to third on the play to give the Pirates two runners in scoring position. Samantha Saenz singled in the next at-bat, bringing both runners home and giving the Pirates a walk-off win.

Swiatkowski went the distance, giving up three runs on eight hits. Alissandra Tobar went 2-for-2 with three stolen bases for the 'Roos, while Johnson, Tori Fowler, and Lyndsey Busch each had a base hit. For her efforts over the weekend, Tobar was named to the All-Tournament team after going 4-for-5 in two games with four stolen bases.
