Isabel Olson led the No. 2-ranked Colorado College women's cross country team to the team title at the Augustana Invitational on Saturday by winning the individual race with a 6K school-record time of 21 minutes, 7.1 seconds.
The Tigers dominated the meet from the start and finished with 56 points, followed by 14
th-ranked Washington University with 106 and No. 3 University of Chicago with 138.
Olson's time surpassed the previous school record of 21:09, set by Leah Wessler at the 2016 Division III National Championship Meet.
Fellow senior
Sydney Rankin placed fourth in 21:22.3 and senior
Elliot Singer finished 10
th in 21:34.9.
Junior
Alison Mueller-Hickler was 17th with a time of 21:52.7, while sophomore
Charlie Flint rounded out the scoring for the Tigers in 24
th place with a time of 22:02.0.
Including Olson's school record, CC's top six runners, including senior
Britt Helgaas (46
th/ 22.29.5), each posted a personal-best time on Saturday in Rock Island, Ill.
"Today was a good chance to see some of the same top teams we faced last month in Terre Haute," head coach
Alex Nichols said. "The margin of victory shows that we're in an even better spot now. We will celebrate the win and Isabel's school record, then get right back to training for nationals."
The Tigers return to action at the SCAC Championship Meet on Saturday, Nov. 2 in Shreveport, La.
