SAN ANTONIO – Trinity University's 16th-ranked women's team and the 24th-ranked men's team finished off the final day of action by clinching two team victories at the Tiger Invite Swimming & Diving Meet on Sunday evening.
Both Tiger teams won by large margins, picking a total of seven individual and relay wins as well as 11 additional second and third place finishes during the swimming finals. Trinity won first and second in both of the relay races that closed out the three-day event, placing a final exclamation point on both team victories.
Trinity's men won by more than 100 points after scoring a three-day total of 1,116 points in the meet. The University of Texas-Permian Basin was second with 995 points, while Loyola University-New Orleans (LA) was third with 599 points. Three fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference followed in the standings, beginning with Southwestern University (TX) in fourth place with 359 points. McMurry University (TX) took fifth place by a single point over the University of St. Thomas (TX), 104-103.
The women were even more dominating by finishing more than 600 points ahead of the nearest school, tallying 1,222.5 points over three days. Colorado State University-Pueblo was second with 621 points, followed by Southwestern University (TX) in third with 491.5, and Loyola University-New Orleans (LA) in fourth with 426 points. McMurry University (TX) edged University of Texas-Permian Basin by just one point for fifth place, scoring 153 to UTPB's 152.
