Sherman, Texas - The #21 Trinity University men's swimming & diving team asserted itd dominance at the 2025 Austin College Invitational, winning the team title with 857 points. The Tigers delivered strong performances across the board, with multiple top-three finishes.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team secured first place with a commanding time of 3:17.24. In individual events, Luke Fender (Jackson, Miss. / St. Andrew's Episcopal) won the 200-yard IM (2:02.14) and contributed to the team's overall depth. Trinity also swept the podium in the 50-yard freestyle, with Daniel Itkins (Houston, Texas / The Village School) (22.43), Nathan Perez (Alpharetta, Ga. / Johns Creek) (22.51), and Ian Truong (Tulsa, Okla. / Jenks) (22.64) finishing first, second, and third, respectively.
Enzo Fiorese (McKinney, Texas / Heritage) led in the 100-yard backstroke with a winning time of 54.12, while Itkins added a second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:02.20). Trinity's Perez claimed first in the 100-yard freestyle (48.84), followed closely by William Walker (Houston, Texas / Westside) in second (48.99).
In the butterfly events, Nickolas Rotolo (Houston, Texas / Houston Christian) won the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.35), while Perez finished second in the 100-yard butterfly (53.53). Additional top-three performances came from Ryan O'Leary (Austin, Texas / Austin), who placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.00), and the team's "B" 400-yard freestyle relay, which finished second (3:20.78).

"We saw a number of lifetime bests as some guys tried events they hadn't raced in years," said Head Coach Cathleen Pruden. "There was great effort all around and signs that two weeks of hard work are going to pay off next month!"
