The Colorado College women's swimming and diving team closed the 2016 calendar year with a commanding 281-84 victory over SCAC foe Austin College Wednesday night at Schlessman Natatorium.
The Tigers dominated from the start, capturing the top two spots in the meet-opening 400-yard medley relay. The foursome of
Emily Harrison,
Madison Prince-Judd,
Alma Jukic and
Helen Carter won the race in a time of 4:23.56.
Individually, freshmen
Jio Chang and
Sarah Dunbar each posted two victories on Wednesday. Chang captured the 200-yard freestyle and 200 butterfly races and finished second in the 100 butterfly. Dunbar, meanwhile, won the 50 freestyle and 200 backstroke, and joined
Selma Jukic,
Kate Guynn and
Ellen Silk on the winning 200 IM relay team.
Selma Jukic (100 butterfly),
Alma Jukic (100 freestyle), Prince-Judd (100 breaststroke),
Chaney Skilling (100 backstroke),
Hannah Varner (500 freestyle) and Silk (200 breaststroke) also won individual races for the Tigers.
In diving,
Mary Rose Donahue once again swept both events, with
Riley Wadehra finishing second.
"I am really excited about how we swam tonight," head coach Anne Goodman-James said. "We were able to switch up our lineup tonight. It was fun to see people try some new events, and be so successful."
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Jan. 7 when they host Wayland Baptist and Ohio Northern beginning at 5 p.m.
