GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern University Swim and Dive team hosted their second dual meet of the season against the Austin College 'Roos Saturday in Walzel Natatorium. On the Men's side, the Pirates took their first dual meet victory and their second meet win overall for the season by a margin of 118-42 over the 'Roos. Southwestern recorded wins in twelve events where both teams participated.
HIGHLIGHTS - First Place Finishes
- Relays - The Pirates placed first in both the 200 Yard Medley Relay and the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. In the medley, it is was Talon Welch, Marc Galindo, Nick Freeman and Eli Allen with a time of 1:41.79. In the freestyle, Christophe Gadin, Allen, Andrew Renninger and Jonas Eaton were first clocking in at 1:31.08.
- Distance Freestyle - James Cosman won both the 1000 yard and the 500 yard free with times of 10:30.82 and 5:07.16, respectively.
- 200 Yard Freestyle - Owen Rodrigue clipped his teammate, Welch, to take first with a time of 1:51.56.
- Sprint Freestyle - Galindo placed first in his second event of the meet in the 50 free at 22.33, while Rodrigue also gained his second win in the 100 free (49.01).
- Butterfly - Galindo was first for the third time on Saturday in the 100 yard fly at 54.98 and Andrew Renninger finished at the top of the 200 fly (2:02.77).
- Backstroke - In the 100 yard backstroke Gadin was ahead of the pack, clocking in 55.52 and Renninger again was first in the 200 back at a time of 1:59.15.
- Breaststroke / IM - Kaden Jones was the first place finisher ahead of two 'Roos swimmers ending with a time of 1:03.68. In his second event win, Jones clocked 2:07.09 in the 200 yard IM.

- In the last meet of 2024 for the Pirates, Southwestern will head to San Antonio, Texas to participate in Trinity University's Tiger Invite at Alamo Heights Natatorium from November 22nd through November 24th.
