ESTACADA, Ore. – McMurry has several personal and season bests in their 16th-place finish at the NCAA Division III West Regional on Saturday.
Chloe McLellan had a school record in the six-kilometer race at 22:22.1 and finished 32nd, earning All-Region honors.
This was a great way to cap off the season with our best top 5 average on the women's side in program history," said McMurry Head Coach
Corey Koch. "Chloe was All-Region and beat the school record by 30 seconds."
Savanna Danner was 79
th a 23:35.4 and
Ashley Shea placed 85
th at 23:42.8.
Katelyn Hernandez had a PR at 24:16.8 and finished 104
th with
Anna Dinaso having a season best at 24:23.9 to round out the scoring in 106
th.
Also for the War Hawks,
Madison Soultanova had a personal record at 25:03.6 and
Jocelyn Moreno added a season-best 26:10.8.
McMurry's team score was 400.
"All of the women ran well, but I would like to highlight seniors
Ashley Shea and Kaitlyn Hernandez, who had their best championship performances in their final meet," said Koch. "Madison also had a lifetime PR and Anna had her best time of the season."
Patrick Esparza, the lone McMurry men's entrant, was 134
th at 27:37.7 in the eight-kilometer men's race.
"We decided only to bring Patrick on the men's team since he was the only senior in our top seven," Koch said. "He ran well in the back half of the race. The other men decided to get healthy and prepare for track season."
