ABILENE – McMurry Swimming and Diving split its Friday duals with the University of the Ozarks with the men winning 115-39 while the women fell, 82-59.
The men won seven events and the War Hawk women claimed three.
Leilani Washington,
Caitlyn Sauer-Newell,
Lorin Mow and
Maddy Rohrer got the meet started well with a win in the women's 400-yard medley relay in 4:31.
Rohrer also won the 100 freestyle in 57.41 and Sauer-Newell won the 200 individual medley in 2:28.39.
For the men,
Victor Zambrano,
Wes Scalf,
Caden Motheral and
Harrison Brown won the 400 medley relay in 3:39.97, the best mark of the season for the War Hawks in that event.
Montgomery Cortez won the 500 freestyle in 5:12.37 and the 100 freestyle in 51.92.
Scalf won the 200 breaststroke with a season-best 2:14.94. He later had his best mark in winning the 200 IM in 2:02.80.
Elijah Trevino won the one-meter diving with a score of 183.
Kristopher Cantu,
Sterling Wright, Montgomery and Brown finished off the night with a win in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:34.56.
The teams meet again to finish the weekend at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
