IRVING, Texas. – The Crusaders split against Trinity, showcasing both offensive firepower and defensive battles. The Crusaders (6-17, 6-14 SCAC) took the first game in an explosive 12-9 victory before falling flat in game two, dropping a 11-0 decision. Trinity (20-6, 15-2 SCAC) and Dallas traded dominant performances, highlighting a tale of two games.
G1 | UDallas 12, Trinity 9
Dallas came out swinging in the opener, posting a 12-9 victory behind a balanced offensive attack. Luke Gill's two-run homer and Nate Curtis' three-hit, two-RBI performance fueled the Crusaders' charge. Reed Morales added two RBIs, while Andrew Gaspar drove in three, including a key sacrifice fly. The Crusaders racked up 10 hits and took advantage of eight walks, building a lead that held despite a late push from Trinity.
G2 | Trinity 11, UDallas 0
In the second game, the Crusaders' bats went cold, managing just one hit in a 11-0 shutout loss. Cody Jenkins provided the lone hit, while the rest of the lineup struggled to find a rhythm against Trinity's pitching. Defensive lapses and a strong offensive effort proved too much, as Dallas failed to build on their earlier success.
Dallas will look to bounce back as they continue their SCAC series tomorrow.
