Tigers Down Trinity For Second Straight Day

The Colorado College men's swimming and diving team moved to 2-0 to start the season after downing SCAC adversary Trinity University, 115-107, for the second time in as many days inside Schlessman Natatorium.

The Tigers captured seven individual event wins to move to 4-2 in their all-time record against Trinity.

Jack Hussin led the way with two first-place finishes in the 100-yard freestyle (47.25) and 200-yard freestyle (1:46.71). Hussin also won the 100-yard the day prior and avenged his second-place finish in the 200 free on Friday with a win on Saturday.

Edmund Davis followed up his two victories from Friday with a win in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:59.43. Miles Nordling collected points in the same event after finishing third at 5:11.48.

Tomas Gonzalez earned first-place honors in the 200-yard butterfly after touching in 2:01.61.

Gonzalez was also part of the 400 medley relay team that finished first by nearly ten seconds. The team also consisted of Caleb Peimann, Collin Ralston and Eric Uerling. The other Tiger relay, the 400 freestyle team featuring Gonzalez, Dax Sherwood, Peimann and Hussin, finished second by out-touching Trinity's B relay by two one-hundredths of a second to close the meet.

Two separate one-meter diving events were held on Saturday and Wyatt Wellehan captured victories in both. In a five-dive event, Wellehan posted a score of 190.28 while following it up with a 303.97-point performance in the six-dive event.

Aidan Richter placed second in the six-dive one-meter event with a score of 303.67.

"It was exciting to see our swimmers and divers really step up today against a great team again today," head coach Anne Goodman James said. "The meet was almost the same outcome [as Friday] score-wise but in a very different way. Yesterday was a full come-from-behind win, while today, we got out to a big start but then had Trinity coming back on us at the end."

CC will be back at Schlessman Natatorium on October 27 to host Southwestern University in another SCAC dual weekend.
