Men's Swimming

McMurry swim takes fourth at Conference championship.


Head Coach Mark Jedow and the McMurry swim team headed to Garland, TX to compete in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
 
The event started Thursday evening with the Women's 200 Yard Medley Relay. The women's team were able to take fourth place scoring 30 points for the War Hawks. In the men's 200-yard Medley Relay the men's team were able to place third scoring 32 points.

The event then moved into the 800-yard free style relay. The Women's team was able to finish in fourth place with another 30 points for the team. On the men's side the men were able to break a 23-year-old school record with a time of 7:17.07 placing fourth place.

In the men 500-yard freestyle Senior Jaxon Batten and Freshman Aiden Wardy were able to finish in 11th and 12th.

In the women's 400-yard medley relay the Women's team were able to finish in fifth place. The men were also able to finish in fifth place.

In event #13 the 200-yard freestyle relay the women were able to finish in fourth place with a time of 1:42.90. The men's team were identical finishing in fourth place with a time of 1:31.

Lorin Mow was able to finish in 15th place in the women 100-yard butterfly.

Harrison Brown was able to finish in 11th place for the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:23.43.

Maddy Rohrer was able to finish in ninth place in the Women 200-yard free style finals with a time of 1:58.63. With Jaxon Batten taking 11th for the men. Aiden Wardy taking 13th.

Isabella Trevino was able to take 10th in the 100-yard Breast stroke. With Kailey Dutcher finishing in 12th. Ryan Behrens taking 11th for the men in the finals.

In the women's 100-yard backstroke Leilani Washington took home a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:00.87. Sophomore Montgomery Cortez finished in ninth for the men with a time of 55.35.


Sophomore Caitlyn Sauer was able to finish in sixth place in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:55.73. With Alec Feldhousen taking 11th for the men with a time of 18:53.40.

In the 200-yard breast stroke Kailey Dutcher finished in 9th place with a time of 2:45.99. This was followed by Isabella Trevino finishing in 13th with a time of 2:50.81. Harrison Brown was able to finish 11th place for the men with a time of 2:19.21.

In event 35 women 400-yard freestyle relay, McMurry was able to secure a fourth-place finish of 3:47.12. The men also following this finish with a fourth-place finish of 3:20.56


After four long days of competition. Every member of the McMurry swim team was able to place high enough to contribute to the team totals. The events concluded with the McMurry Women's team taking fourth place with a total score of 293 points. Like many of the other events the Men also finished in fourth place with a total of 272.This bringing the highest placing finish for both teams since joining the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
