Texas Lutheran Falls to McMurry, 73-53

SEGUIN, Texas -- Junior guard Angelina Sotelo (San Marcos/San Marcos) scored 19 points to lead the Bulldogs but the #RV Texas Lutheran women's basketball team fell to McMurry 73-53 on Friday at Memorial Gymnasium.

Sotelo would be the only Bulldog in double figures while adding six rebounds and five assists. Sarahi Jones (Los Fresnos/Los Fresnos) grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.

Texas Lutheran (14-3, 8-1 SCAC) shot 20-of-68 (29.4 percent) from the floor, including 4-of-20 (20.0 percent) from behind the arc. McMurry shot 25-of-57 (43.9 percent), including 12-of-31 (38.7 percent) from three-point range.

Texas Lutheran would start the game with a 7-3 run before the visiting War Hawks finished the quarter on a 12-3 run to end the quarter with a 15-10 lead. The War Hawks would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the game. 

After the Bulldogs fought to shrink their lead to eight points, the War Hawks pulled away from Texas Lutheran in the fourth quarter - holding the Bulldogs to eight points in the quarter - and stretching out to as much as a 22 point lead in the quarter.
