#RV Baseball drops series finale to No. 15/17 Trinity

SEGUIN, Texas -- #RV Texas Lutheran Baseball dropped the series finale to No. 15/17 Trinity, 8-2, and were swept by the Tigers on Monday at Katt-Isbel Field.

The Bulldogs (4-3, 3-3 SCAC) will travel to Hardin-Simmons on Friday to begin a four-game series with the Cowboys in Abilene. All streaming and live stats links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.

Brayden Sprencel (Robstown/Calallen) was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Mason Goudeau (Liberty/Liberty) went 2-for-4 with a double while Caleb Small (Round Rock/Gateway College Preparatory) finished 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Trinity got on the board first with runs in the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead. The Tigers scored another run in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 3-0. The Bulldogs responded with their first run of the night in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single from Sprencel.

The Tigers pulled away with a three-run fifth inning to push their lead to 6-1. Trinity added two more insurance runs in the eighth to take an 8-1 lead. Caleb Small scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth to bring the game to its final score.

Triston McGowan (Vidor/Vidor) started and pitched 4.2 innings, allowing six runs on three hits. The loss dropped him to 1-1 on the season.
