SAN ANTONIO – Trinity's 18th-ranked women's swimming & diving team finished off a victory over fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference school, University of St. Thomas (TX) on Friday night.
The Tigers won all of the events and relays, spreading their individual event winners across six different swimmers. Trinity also won both the 200 medley relay that opened the meet and the 200 free relay that capped off the evening.
Jules Wiehrdt (Waco, Texas / Midway) was the only double winner for the Tigers on Friday, taking gold in both the 50 and 100 freestyle races. Also earning victories on the day were
Emily Baggett (Kingwood, Texas / Kingwood),
Lindsay McKinney (Victoria, Texas / Saint Joseph),
Ellie Devens (Houston, Texas / Tomball),
Bethany Mueller (Buda, Texas / Hays), and
Sienna Nordquist (Albuquerque, N.M. / Hope Christian).
Baggett won the 100 butterfly and was also third in the 100 backstroke, which was won by Mueller, and also had Nordquist in the mix as the runner-up. Mueller was also second to Weihrdt in the 50 free. Nordquist picked up her win early in the meet, taking the top spot in the 200 free. McKinney won the 100 breaststroke race at the end of the meet, while Devens was the winner in the 400 individual medley, as well as finishing as the runner-up to Wiehrdt in the 100 free.
After a pair of third place finishes in the 50 free and the 100 free,
Sid McCullough (Centennial, Colo. / Cherry Creek) snagged a runner-up spot behind McKinney in the 100 breast.
Anna Stouffer (St. Louis, Mo. / Clayton) was second to Nordquist to start the individual events in the 200 free, then was also third behind McKinney and McCullough in the 100 breast.
Erin Morie (St. Louis, Mo. / Cor Jesu Academy) was the runner-up in the 400 IM and was also fourth behind three teammates in the 100 back.
