Women's Soccer Second Half Push Comes Up Short Against No. 16 Trinity
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women’s soccer team tried a second half comeback against the No. 16 ranked Trinity (Tex.), however, the Tigers pulled away late for the 4-1 win.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's soccer team tried a second half comeback against the No. 16 ranked Trinity (Tex.), however, the Tigers pulled away late for the 4-1 win.
The Tigers held the early shot advantage in the first half and eventually broke through in the 34th minute when Hannah Khan had her original stop shot by Mary Beers, but she was able to kick in the loose ball giving Trinity a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the Tigers made it a 2-0 game in the 47th minute when Khan received a through ball pass in the box and she passed it over to Michaela Bosco who scored.
However, the Griffins answered in the 52nd minute. Bianca Crotez-Perez one-timed a pass from Libby Bateman ahead for Krystal Kohenskey and the senior forward beat the Tigers goalie to the far post for her second on the season.
It remained a 2-1 game up until the 84th minute when Mary Sheridan scored off an assist from Kyra Stafford. Trinity tacked on another goal in the 85th minute for the 4-1 win.
Notes
- Kohenskey's goal was her 16th in her career and gives her 59 career points.
- Kohenskey led with five shots.
- Bianca Cortez-Perez registered her first assist with the Griffins.
- Mary Beers made five saves.
