
Gents Blank Ouachita Baptist 3-0 At Home
The Centenary men's soccer team set the tone early on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference contest against Ouachita Baptist University, as the Gents scored a goal just 51 seconds into the match on their way to an impressive 3-0 victory over the Tigers at Atkins Field.

The Gents (3-1-1) continued their solid play after setting a division II program era record for goals in a game with a 9-0 blowout victory over the Mississippi University for Women (MUW) Owls on Friday night in a non-conference contest. The Tigers fell to 0-3-1 with Sunday's loss.
Centenary and OBU, a division III program, were meeting for the first time since 2005 and the Gents are now 5-0 all-time against the Tigers. The Gents are 5-4-2 in their last 11 home matches.
Senior MF Brennan Amato (Denham Springs, La.) found the net just under a minute into the match with freshman MF Emiliano Mondragon (Dallas, Texas) tallying the assist as the Gents wasted no time in taking the lead. Senior MF Hunter Booth (Harrodsburg, Ky.) then made it 2-0 in the 28th minute on an unassisted goal. Booth is now tied for the team lead in goals this season with three and has scored six in his career.
Senior F Ron Masti (Houston, Texas) scored in the 33rd minute to make it 3-0, the Gents' final goal of the match, with freshman MF Kevin Huskey Jr. (Dallas, Texas) picking up the assist. Masti scored for the second match in a row and now has 10-career goals.
Freshman GK Sebastian Lutin (Fort Worth, Texas) started for the Gents and went the distance, making four saves. Lutin, in his fourth start of the season, recorded his first-career shutout. Dillon Staal started for the Tigers and went the distance and made five saves.
Centenary finished with a slight edge (13-12) in shots and found the net in three of its eight shots on goal. OBU took four corner kicks to the Gents' three and the teams combined for 22 fouls – 14 by the Gents and eight by the Tigers and three yellow cards were issues – two to Centenary and one to OBU.
The Gents hit the road for a pair of non-conference matches next week with the first being a matchup with the University of Texas at Dallas (another division II opponent) on Sept. 19 and at East Texas Baptist University on Sept. 21 in Marshall, Texas.
