Men's Soccer Records Fourth Shutout in Win Over Dallas

IRVING, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's soccer team (5-0-2, 1-0-1 SCAC) blanked the Dallas Crusaders (1-7, 0-2 SCAC), 5-0, for its fourth shutout of the season Friday night.

Five different Bulldogs found the back of the net Friday night with three goals coming in the second half. Twenty-five Bulldogs saw action on Friday. Michael Wells (Klein/Klein), Diego Sanchez (Humble/Atascocita), Cole Sixkiller (San Antonio/Reagan), and Jayden Franke (San Antonio/Johnson) would all score their first goals of the season while Diego Roman (Houston/Lamar) would add his second goal of the season on Friday.

After the first 20 minutes went scoreless, Wells and Sanchez would combine for their goals in a span of 18 minutes. Wells would break the scoreless draw just over 21 minutes in via an assist from Jack Manke (Houston/Stratford) before Sanchez would double the Bulldogs lead in the 39th minute as TLU would carry a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Seniors Diego Roman and Cole Sixkiller tallied the Bulldogs' third and fourth goals in the 67th and 71st minutes respectively with Sixkiller's coming via an assist from Carlos Longoria (Brownsville/Rivera).

Jayden Franke scored the final goal of the match in the 85th minute for the first goal of his collegiate career.

Noel Pena (Houston/Cy-Falls) got the shutout in-goal for the Bulldogs for his fourth shutout in seven matches this season.

The Bulldogs limited Dallas to two shots total with neither shot coming on goal while managing 13 shots of their own with ten on goal.

Texas Lutheran returns home for the first time in over a month on Sunday, Oct. 6, as they welcome the Austin College 'Roos to Seguin. First kick is scheduled for 12 PM with the match streamed on TLU+. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
