Crusaders Battle in Georgetown

Crusaders Battle in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Texas -- The Crusaders hit the road for their second series of the season and first SCAC series against the Pirates of Southwestern (2-1) and the three matchups did not lack scoring.

In game one, the Crusaders blanked the Pirates through three innings, 3-0, on some inspired pitching through William Mosley. Although Dallas was in control early on with Mosley they seemed to let off the gas a bit and the Crusaders had to turn to Jayden Rodriguez to close it out. Cayden Hohman was intentionally walked at the bottom of the 9th and so was Tyler Espinosa to bring home a walk-off hit-by-pitch run.

In game two, it was all about defense and the scoring would not commence until the 5th inning. The Crusaders got on the board first, Andrew Gaspar singled to bring home Cody Jenkins. The Crusaders would go on to give up a few runs late into extras and drop game two.

In game three, the Crusaders would get home three times in the 2nd inning and seemingly awaken the Pirates' offense in the process. The Pirates would go on to score six runs in the third and never look back.

UDallas were set to play Hardin-Simmons in Abilene, Texas but due to extreme weather, this contest will be played at a later date.
