The Colorado College women's swim and dive team earned a win and barely lost the other dual in the double dual meets against Occidental and Chapman. The Tigers trounced Occidental by a final score of 206-89 and narrowly fell to Chapman 141-159.
Alexis Lee picked up two individual wins for CC in the 200-yard (2:10.03) and 100-yard backstroke (1:00.19).
Isabella Cole owned the breaststroke events, placing first in the 100-yard(1:08.97) and 200-yard breast (2:26.84).
Gina Lynch collected valuable points for CC, finishing second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.69 and later touching in 55.78 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle, good enough for third place.
Emma Phillips was a distance machine, winning both the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:12.20 and later on capped the 500-yard free with a first-place time of 5:27.03
Keller Pooley and
Emma Krasemann showed out on the boards in the diving portion of the meet. After racking 265.65 points in the three-meter board, Pooley won both events, while Krasemann finished with 256.35. Pooley won with 264.50 points in the one-meter, and Krasemann came in second with 256.05 points.
"We had a great meet today, with really close and challenging competition," head coach
Anne Goodman James said. "The divers gave us a great start to the meet, winning both boards.
Emma Phillips was exceptional today in the distance events."
CC will return to action next weekend to host the CC Classic starting on Friday, Jan. 19, at Schlessman Natatorium.
