SAN ANTONIO – The 16th-ranked Tiger women's golf team won both the team and individual titles at the Alamo City Classic, which finished up Tuesday at The Quarry Golf Course.
Trinity won the event by 27 strokes after shooting a two-round total of 612 at the tournament. LeTourneau University (TX) was second, while Piedmont University (GA) was just two shots back in third place. The University of St. Thomas (TX) was fourth, followed by Texas Lutheran University in fifth, the University of Dallas (TX) in sixth, and Howard Payne University (TX) in seventh.
The Tigers took the top three individual spots as well, with
Jessica Mason (Westminster, Colo. / Holy Family) taking the medalist honors.
Alejandra Sanchez De la Fuente Molino (Marbella, Spain / Atalaya) was second, while
Kate Schulle (Cedar Park, Texas / Cedar Park) was third, and both won a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Mason shot 147 (73-74) for the tournament and was five-over at the par-71 course. Sanchez De la Fuente Molino shot 153 (74-79) and Schulle was just two shots back with a 155 (77-78).
Carmen Kennett (Missouri City, Texas / Ridge Point) was tied for 12th with a score of 163 (85-78), followed by
Lauren Huddleston (Anthem, Ariz. / Boulder Creek) in a tie for 16th after shooting 165 (79-86).
Peyton Flynn (Geismar, La. / Ascension Christian) was playing as an individual for the Tigers and finished in 20th place with a score of 168 (80-88) for the week.

Trinity closes out its fall season at the Golfweek October Classic next week in Destin, Florida. The event is October 13-15 at the Sandestin Resort & Club.
