The Colorado College swimming and diving teams wrapped up the Centre College Invitational Sunday in Danville, Ky., The men held on for a second-place finish, while the women placed third.
Emma Krasemann captured first place in the women's 3-meter diving competition with 385.3 points after winning the 1-meter on Saturday.
Keller Pooley placed second with 381.8 points.
Julia Cox and Alyssa Tungaal finished third in the 100 freestyle and 200 butterfly, respectively, while Cox joined
Sarah Buchman,
Grace Ersfeld-O'Brien and
Megan Simonson on the fourth-place 400 freestyle relay team.
Kylie Spalt (1650 freestyle),
Maddy Golier (200 backstroke) and
Isabella Cole (200 breaststroke) each posted a 10
th-place finish.
The women's team scored 1800 points, trailing Centre College (2670.5) and the University of the Cumberlands (2242.5).
The men's team, which scored 1943 points and finished second to the University of the Cumberlands (2424.5 points), was led by a third-place finish by
Stephen Kim in the 100 IM.
Sam Allen placed fourth in the 200 backstroke, followed by Caleb Piemann in seventh. Piemann joined
Jack Hussin,
Step Flanagan and
Liam McCarthy on the fourth-place 400 freestyle relay team.
In diving,
Wyatt Wellehan finished fifth on the 1-meter board, followed by
Aidan Richter in sixth.
McCarthy (100 freestyle),
Edmund Davis (1650 freestyle) and
Collin Ralston (200 breaststroke) each posted a sixth-place result, while
Tomas Gonzalez was seventh in the 200 butterfly and Hussin eighth in the 100 freestyle.
"Both teams had good team performances as everyone contributed to the overall results with season, lifetime and all-time top times," head coach
Jen Buffin said. "This team worked hard this fall building a culture of competitiveness and how they wanted to show up to competitions as a team. The focus of this meet was to use it as another opportunity to learn and compete. They truly left it all in the pool this weekend."
The Tigers return to action in January, with the women hosting CSU-Pueblo on Jan. 11, at 11 a.m., then both teams host the CC Classic beginning on Friday, Jan. 17.
