JONATHAN BLOUNT OF CENTENARY
COLLEGE, a senior guard from
Shreveport, La., has been selected the SCAC Men's Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 3rd
through Sunday, February 9th.
Blount averaged 23.0 points in
Centenary’s three games this week including tying his
career-high of 31 points in a 75-57 win over the SCAC’s
top-ranked Trinity University.
He scored 18 earlier in the week in a win over Austin College
and followed that up with a 20 point showing against Southwestern.
For the week, Blount also
dished out a total of nine assists, recorded nine rebounds and
blocked a shot in 96 minutes of action.
The Shreveport, La., native shot 55.6 percent from the field
along with a 45.5 clip from behind the
arc. Blountwas also 24 for 25
from the charity stripe for the week.
Blount has propelled the Gents’
six-game win streak and move the squad to within a game of Trinity
in the conference standings.
Blount has scored in double-digits in
all 42 games in the SCAC and has a double figure scoring streak of
50 games dating back to his sophomore season.
