KENNARD ROBINSON OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a senior guard from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Monday, January 27 through Sunday, February 02.

Robinson averaged 16 points and 11 assists per game in UST’s two wins. Robinson started the weekend with a nine-point, 12-assist effort, followed by double-double, scoring 23 points and handing out 10 more assists. With 12 assists against Trinity and 10 more against Schreiner, Robinson is the first SCAC men’s player to post back-to-back double-digit assist performances since Justin Berardino of Colorado College had 11 assists on back-to-back nights against Austin College and Texas Lutheran in the 2016 conference tournament.

Robinson also shot 56.3 percent (9 of 16) from the field and was 75 percent (12 of 16) from the free throw line.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Cedric Harris of Centenary averaged 17.5 points-per-game over two games this past week. He scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds in Friday’s victory over Schreiner. Harris also posted a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds in Sunday’s win over Trinity. Senior CooXooEii Black of Colorado College averaged 23 points and 13 rebounds per game while leading Colorado College in a pair of road losses last week. On Saturday at the University of Dallas, Black scored 20 points and became the seventh member of CC’s 1,500-point club. Junior Dustin Mathis of Dallas led the Crusaders with a pair of 20-point performances in a 2-0 weekend. Mathis shot 7-9 at the free throw line in Friday’s win over Johnson & Wales University, while on Saturday he drained five triples against Colorado College. Junior Michael Holland of Austin College led the ‘Roos in a 2-0 weekend. Holland averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2.5 steals-per-game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 77.8 percent from the free throw line. Junior Sebastian Andrade of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to a 78-76 road win over Southwestern by scoring 29 points and pulling down four rebounds. Andrade hit 10 of his 16 shots and scored TLU’s final six points. Junior Trenton Garrett of Southwestern led the Pirates with 18 points with a perfect game from the field (7 of 7) while contributing four rebounds, a steal, and an assist against Texas Lutheran.
