COOXOOEII BLACK OF COLORADO COLLEGE a senior forward from Arapahoe, Wyoming, has been named the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played from Monday, February 10 through Sunday, February 16.

Black averaged 23 points and 13.5 rebounds per game as Colorado College kept its postseason hopes alive with a pair of impressive home-court victories last week. Black produced game highs of 26 points and 13 rebounds on Friday night to lead CC to a 87-69 victory over Schreiner at Reid Arena. He connected on nine of 15 field-goal attempts to shoot .600 or better for the eighth time this season. In Saturday's 75-52 win over Trinity, Black posted his 11th double-double of the season with game highs of 20 points and 14 rebounds. It marked the 16th time this season as well as the 10th game in a row that the senior forward scored 20 or more points in a game.

With his fourth rebound, Black became just the fifth player in conference history to record 1,500 or more career points and 700 or more career rebounds. His current season total of 465 points is a personal best and ranks 22nd on the program?s single-season list.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Michael Holland of Austin College had a strong weekend to help the 'Roos go 2-0 with wins over Southwestern and Texas Lutheran, averaging 19.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 63.6% from the field, 71.4% from three, and 83.3% from the free throw line. Holland poured in 26 points in a key win over TLU on Saturday. Senior guard Cedric Harris of Centenary scored 28 points in Friday's victory over St. Thomas in SCAC play. Harris, who entered the game as the third-leading scorer in the SCAC averaging 19.7 points per game, eclipsed the 20-point mark in a game for the 13th time this season. He added 13 rebounds as he recorded his seventh double-double of the season. Sophomore guard Jai Love of Dallas posted a pair of double-digit scoring totals for the Crusaders this weekend. Love used an 8-for-10 effort at the free throw line to account for most of his 15 points in a big victory over Texas Lutheran University on Friday. He had a critical steal and made layup to spread the margin to three at the time, and he also made the free throws that later sealed the win. Senior point guard Kyle Howard of Southwestern averaged 20 points per game on a scorching 68.8 percent shooting as the Pirates split two SCAC road games. In Saturday's 90-79 victory at Dallas, Howard scored 15 points in the second half to lead Southwestern to victory. Junior guard Jamir Mason of Texas Lutheran averaged 16.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in two road losses for the Bulldogs last week. He had 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the loss at University of Dallas, and followed up with 19 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals at Austin College. Sophomore guard AJ Clark of Trinity led the Tigers to a 1-1 split over the weekend in SCAC play, averaging 11.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
