ALEJANDRO BRISENO OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Brownsville, Texas, has been named the SCAC Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Monday, April 4th through Sunday April 10th.
At the University of the Incarnate Word meet, Briseno posted a throw of 15.07 (49-5.5) to further his lead in the SCAC (by nearly 5 feet) for a second place overall finish behind a Division I thrower. The mark is a new school record and is currently 39th nationally. He also increased his lead in the SCAC in the hammer throw and again breaking a school record with a toss of 43.35 (142 feet, 3 inches). Once again he placed second behind a Division I thrower in the event.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Tyler Adams of Southwestern University broke his Southwestern University record in the Discus with a throw of 40.13m at the University of Incarnate Word T&F meet on Saturday. Freshman John Hatch of Colorado College posted a 22 '6 1/4 inches in the long jump placing him 3rd in the SCAC and then triple jumped 43 feet 1/4 inches which ranks him 2nd in the SCAC.
