LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - After earning a first place finish at the SCAC Men's Cross Country Championships, senior Taylor Piske locked up the Runner of the Year honor for the first time in his career. 

After two straight runner-up finishes in the event, Piske broke through with a time of 27:37.8 to become the school's first individual champion since Thomas Pillow won the third of his ROTY titles in 1999. 

Two weeks after Piske led Trinity to their third title in four years, the Trinity men narrowly missed a spot in the national championship meet with a third-place finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional. The Tigers finished with 100 team points - just three points behind second-place Christopher Newport University. Piske finished in a time of 26:06.7 and earned both all-Region recognition and an individual berth in next weekend's NCAA championships meet his finishing time of 26:01.29.
