TAYLOR DYDALEWICZ OF TEXAS LUTHERAN
UNIVERSITY, a junior forward
from Dripping Springs, Texas, has been selected the SCAC
Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played
through Sunday, November 23rd.
Dydalewicz was a huge part in a successful
weekend for Texas Lutheran, going 1-1 including their first win of
the season against Concordia (Texas).
Dydalewicz averaged 23.0 points and 7.0 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs. On Tuesday against the Tornadoes, Dydalewicz picked up her first double-double of the season, scoring 10 points and pulling down 10 boards including a blocked shot in a 67-59 victory.
She followed that up on Saturday with a career night in scoring, dropping 36 points on the Mary Hardin-Baylor Cru in a 91-89 overtime loss. Dydalewicz 36 points are a TLU Division III-era record and played key to the Bulldogs coming from behind and nearly pulling off the victory.
After two weeks of play, Dydalewicz currently leads the conference with 20.0 points/game and is ninth in the conference 6.3 rebounds/game.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard Christina
Kime of Austin College became the first 'Roo since 2009
to hit the 1,000 point mark for her career, as the senior point
guard averaged 17.0 points in two games as the 'Roos topped East
Texas Baptist and fell just short against UT-Dallas. Junior forward Briana Edwards of
Centenary averaged 16.3 points/game and 7.3
rebound/game as the Ladies went 0-3 against Louisiana College,
Ozarks, and Elmira. Senior forward Brooke Hagemann of
Dallas helped lift Dallas to a pair of victories over
the opening weekend at the Maher Athletic Center. In the
season-opener, the senior forward tied a team-high 14 points and
pulled down six rebounds. On Saturday in a win over University of
Ozarks, Hagemann contributed 13 points to tie second on the squad.
Senior forward Jordan
Owens of Southwestern was named to the All-Tournament
team at the McWilliams Classic at WashU as she averaged 17.0
points/game and 4.3 rebounds/game. Senior guard Lauren Splawn of
Trinity led the Tigers to its first win of the season
in the only game of the past week for the Tigers, earning a 62-57
road victory over Hardin-Simmons University. Splawn finished the
game with 16 points overall, as well as leading the team with nine
rebounds and four steals. Colorado College and
Schreiner did
not nominate anyone.
