LEILANI MCDANIEL OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Austin, Texas, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for competitions through October 25th.
McDaniel finished in a tie for second place in the field of 48 golfers at the Abilene Intercollegiate, posting a two round score of 153 (+11). McDaniel helped Southwestern to a second place finish in the tough field.
McDaniel earned made a seven-spot leap after posting a 73 (+2) through the second round, the second lowest score of the event.
This is the third top-10 finish of the year for McDaniel, after finishing third at the Al Jones Memorial and fourth at the Alamo Classic.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Kaycee Bankert of Schreiner University finished in fifth place at the Abilene Intercollegiate, posting a two round score of 156 and helping schreiner to a fourth place finish. Summer Swift of Texas Lutheran took 28th place at the Abilene Intercollegiate, posting a 170.
