HANNAH BOOHER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore defender from Deer Park, Texas has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Tuesday, September 1st through Sunday, September 6th.
Booher led Trinity to a 2-0 start to the season, defeating NAIA school Our Lady of the Lake University on Tuesday, and then capping the week with a win over Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Friday.
Booher and the Tiger defense recorded two 1-0 shutouts to open the 2015 campaign, allowing just five total shots over 180 minutes of action. Trinity will be back in action this week against the University of Texas-Tyler, which was a playoff team just a year ago.
The Tigers open SCAC play on Tuesday, September 15, hosting Schreiner University.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior defender, Taylor Vatuna of Texas Lutheran University led a TLU defensive unit that allowed just one goal in its first three matches - all Bulldog wins. Junior defender, Erica Williams of Austin College had a strong start to the 2015 season, tallying twice in the first three games of the season for Austin College.
