Cailee Morgan, Schreiner University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 1)

CAILEE MORGAN OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a junior midfielder from Pearland, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches played Thursday, September 1st through Monday, September 4th. 

Morgan led the Mountaineers to a 1-1 week, including a 3-0 win over East Texas Baptist University. In the game, Morgan scored twice and tallied the game winner in the twelfth minute. She also recrded three shots in Schreiner's loss to LeTourneau on Saturday.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore midfielder Kristi Stephens of Austin College tallied the game-winner in a 1-0 win over McMurry on Sunday, giving the 'Roos their first victory of 2017. Senior defender Aileen Machado of the University of Dallas scored two goals, including the gamewinner on Monday in a 3-0 victory over Louisiana College. Sophomore forward Jaclyn Smolik of Texas Lutheran University scored the Bulldogs' lone goal in a loss Friday to LeTourneau. For the weekend, Smolik had four total shots with three shots on goal. Senior forward Julia Camp of Trinity University led the #5 Tiger women's soccer team to a 2-1-0 record to start the season, picking up a goal and an assist to pace Trinity's attack.
