PAYTON GREEN OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a freshman from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Swimmer of the Week for all meets through Sunday, November 6th.
Green helped Trinity to a 160-127 win over the University of Texas at Permian Basin this weekend, earning one individual win and one runner-up finish.
Green opened up her day with a second place finish in the 200 freestyle, recording a time of 2:00.86, just one-tenth of a second behind the winner. She followed that performance with a victory in the 500 free, finishing in 5:21.47. Both of these times lead the SCAC this season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Ellen Silk of Colorado College turned in strong performances in the butterfly events during a dual meet with Colorado School of Mines, finishing the 100 fly in 1:00.00 for second and coming in fourth in the 200 fly (2:24.56). Erika Dubros of Southwestern University placed first in both the 100 breast (1:12.54) and the 100 free (57.62) during a dual meet with Austin College.
