Jio Chang of Colorado College, a junior from Moraga, Calif., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for her performance the week of Monday, January 14 through Sunday, January 20. It marks the second time Chang has won the award.
Chang led the Tigers to victory at the Colorado College Classic over the weekend totaling three individual and two relay victories. The California native took the 100 free in a personal-best time of 54.46 and added wins in the 200 (2:14.77) and 100 (59.35) fly. Chang also contributed to the winning 400 medley (4:16.18)and 800 free (8:27.32) relay efforts.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Ashley Harmon of Southwestern led the Pirates to victory over Trinity taking the 200 fly (2:14.75) and 100 free (11:15.69) in addition to participating in the winning 200 medley relay with a 29.44 split. Trinity freshman Morgan Reyna anchored the winning 200 free relay, adding a 24.4 split at the Tigers’ dual with Southwestern. University of the Ozarks freshman Shalley Coffin broke the school record in the 1000 free at Henderson State, completing the race in 12:31.29.
