WACO, Texas -- Sixth-seeded Schreiner opened the Southern Collegiate Athletic Men’s Tennis Championship with an impressive 4-0 opening round victory over No. 11 Dallas Thursday night at Waco Regional Tennis & Fitness Center. Official Website | Postmatch Interview | Photo Album
The Mountaineers opened the scoring by securing the doubles point after Katherine Bergeron and Addyson Grunberg posted a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles and Ally Leonard and Sara Becerril won 6-2 at the No. 3 line.
Mackenzie Griffin sparked the scoring in singles, claiming the first point after earning a straight set 6-0, 6-0 win at the top singles line. Bergeron posted her second point of the night for the Mountaineers with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 4 line and Grunberg slammed the door shut at No. 3 with a 6-0, 6-2 win. Schreiner has now earn victories in back-to-back SCAC Tournaments for the third time in program history.
Schreiner improved to 5-11 and will face off against the No. 2 seed in Southwestern on Friday at 3:00 PM CT, while Dallas closes the 2025 campaign with a 1-12 record.

This will be the third all-time meeting between the two programs in SCAC Tournament history, as the Mountaineers claimed a win in the first meeting in 2014 and the Pirates winning the most recent matchup in 2021 .
