Rachel Demerjian of Centenary College, a freshman setter from Clendora, Calif., has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 10th to Sunday September 16th.

Demerjian had quite a week as Centenary went 3-1, including a win against NCAA Div. I team Grambling State and the first SCAC win in team history against Texas Lutheran. In the four-set win against Grambling, Demerjian just missed a triple-double after recording 34 assists, 10 digs and nine kills. She recorded her seventh double-double of the season and fifth consecutive, against Trinity with 22 assists and 10 digs. In the sweep of Schreiner, Demerjian tallied the highest match assists per set of her career (14.00). On the week Demerjian totaled 143 assists to average 10.21 assists-per-set. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC: 

Austin College sophomore outside hitter Mayson Kennon led the ‘Roos to a 2-1 record last weekend, totaling 34 kills and averaging 2.62 kills-per-set.with four service aces. Senior middle hitter Myca Steffey-Bean hit .569 for the week to help No. 2 Colorado College improve to 11-0 with three victories last week. Her .789 attack percentage (15-0-19) on Saturday against Covenant College was the best this season for a Tiger with 10 or more swings. Trinity senior outside hitter Madeline McKay paced the seventh-ranked Tigers to a weekend sweep piling up 36 total kills (4.00/set) and a .355 hitting percentage for the week, including 16 kill performances against both Southwestern and Austin. Senior outside hitter Jamison Duck of Southwestern recorded a season-high 20 kills against TLU and averaged 3.27 kills-per-set last week. Dallas freshman middle hitter Dayjah White posted a .605 hitting percentage with 27 total kills in two matches. Junior outside hitter Bryten Mitchan of Texas Lutheran record 49 kills in five matches while also grabbing 10 total blocks for the Bulldogs.
