SEGUIN, Texas - Trinity University, which had
three individuals finish in the top 10, took first place at the
NCAA South/Southeast Regional meet held at Texas Lutheran
University. With the victory, the Tigers qualify for the NCAA
Championship meet at Hanover College on Nov. 22.
Trinity finished atop of 24 other teams with a total of 43 points.
Emory University came in second with 55 points.
Other SCAC team finishes included Rhodes College in fourth place,
Hendrix College in ninth place, Centre College in 11th place,
Southwestern University in 15th place and Sewanee-University
of the South in 19th place.
Trinity's Emily Loeffler finished in second place in a time of
22:16 and her teammate Liz Eder was third in a time of 22:27. D'Ann
Arthur came in seventh with a finishing time of 22:39.
Taylor Stephens of Rhodes, the 2008 SCAC Runner of the Year, won
the meet with a finishing time of 21:55. SCAC runners swept the top
four spots as Hendrix College's Lolly Plummer came in fourth in a
time of 22:28.

In the Great Lakes Regional, the DePauw University women must wait
word of an at-large berth to the NCAA Championship meet after
finishing in third place out of 34 teams. Only the top two teams
from each regionally automatically qualify for the national
meet.
DePauw's Lauren Reich had her usual quality run, finishing in sixth
with a time of 22:20. Her teammate, Alison Case was 14th with a
time of 22:58.

out of 16 teams.
