Molly McCullough, Runner of the Week (Week 1)

MOLLY MCCULLOUGH OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore runner from Portland, Ore., has been named the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Sunday, September 4th.

McCullough led the Tigers to a victory at the Alamo City Opener, where she was the first collegiate finisher in the race.

McCullough posted a time of 19:34.27, knocking eight seconds off of her time from last year. She guided a pack of five Trinity runners and helped the team post a score of 17 points.

The Tigers will compete this Saturday at the Our Lady of the Lake University Collegiate Invitational at the Windcrest Golf Course.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Sarah Fritzsche of Texas Lutehran won the Pirate Opener by two minutes and two seconds over the second place finisher. Senior Leah Wessler of Colorado College competed in elevation at the UC-Colorado Springs Rust Buster, placing fifth among a field motly composed of NCAA Division II athletes. Freshman Madison Galvan of Austin College finished fourth overall at the King Campbell Spectacular in her collegiate debut, finishing the two-mile course with a time of 12:30.50. Junior Angela Moore of the University of Dallas finished 16th overall at the Bill Libby Invitational witha time of 21:21 over the 5k course.
