LAURA TAYLOR OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Coppell, Texas ran an impressive 22:34 for her first 6k of the season at the ACU Classic. This is a 72 second improvement over her previous 6k best and also puts her 8th all-time in the Trinity record books.
Taylor led her team to a first place finish among the non-DI field. She came in 7th overall in the entire field (DI included), working with her teammate Haley McFadden.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Ashley Rynard of Texas Lutheran University finished as the 4th overall female at the TLU Bulldog Invitational with a time of 19:35 over the 5K course. Her time is 1:16 faster than she ran on this course last year. Freshman Sofia Garcia of Southwestern University was the Piractes' highest finisher, placing 10th at the TLU Invite with a time of 21:39.
