Colorado College Knocks Off Dallas in Third Place Match

The Tigers (28-8) were absolutely dominant out of the gate, defeating the Crusader 25-8 in the first set. Dallas (27-13) responded in the second set, winning 25-14. The Crusaders looked on their way to a victory in set three, leading 21-17, but Colorado College responded by taking eight of the next nine points to win the set, 25-22.

The Tigers followed that up with a 25-18 victory to take the win.

Courtney Birkett led the way with an astounding game, going for 12 kills, 14 assists, and 17 digs in the victory. Kristen Liberty and Abbe Holtze added nine kills each. Sarah Barker had 24 assists in the matchup. Defensively, Sophie Merrifield led the way with 22 digs as Holtze had 11. Kaimara Herron added four blocks on the afternoon.

On the other side, Dallas was led by Jaime Birzer with nine kills while Emily Caples added eight kills. C.j. Broadbent was terrific with 32 assists. Defensively, Jessie Koster led the way with 25 digs while Mairin Guilfoyle had 11. Caples added seven blocks.
