Location

San Antonio

San Antonio is the seventh-most populous city in the United States, and the second-most populous city in both Texas and the Southern United States, with more than 1.5 million residents. Founded as a Spanish mission and colonial outpost in 1718, the city became the first chartered civil settlement in present-day Texas in 1731. The area was still part of the Spanish Empire, and later of the Mexican Republic. Today it is the state's oldest municipality.

Palo Alto College Aquatic and Athletic Center

The Aquatic Center at Palo Alto College is located in south San Antonio at the intersection of Loop 410 South and State Highway 16 (Palo Alto Road), just east of Interstate 35 South. Open since 1992, the facility is a joint effort with the City of San Antonio to bring a one-of-a-kind swimming facility to San Antonio. The Center includes a variety of unique features that have allowed the venue to host a number of high caliber competitions, including the US Open, USA Swimming Junior Olympics, U.S. Olympic Festival, several NCAA Championships and this year's SCAC championship meet.
