ERIN BRAHM OF
SEWANEE-UNIVERSITY OF THE
SOUTH, a sophomore captain on
the women's volleyball team from Huntsville, Ala.,
has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Female
Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending October 3,
2010.
Brahm was the assist leader and voted Team MVP in
2009, and has also been a past Tiger of the Week for
Sewanee.
Brahm has excelled academically since arriving on
the Mountain as she was named to the Sewanee Dean's List
in the fall and spring of 2009, the SCAC Academic Honor Roll, and
is a member of the Society of Sewanee Scholars and the Order of the
Gownsmen. She was a Bachman Research Operative in the Spring of
2010 and a NASA Undergraduate Intern during the summer of
2010.
In her short time on the Mountain, Brahm
has immersed herself in various extracurricular activities.
She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and
Students for Positive Extracurricular
Engagement. Brahm is also the treasurer
of the Cumberland Contra Dance Clan, a member of the Students for
an Environmentally Responsible Planet, and Scholarship
Sewanee.
In addition, Brahm serves as a host for
prospective Sewanee students, volunteers at Friday School for the
Sewanee Elementary School, and has served as a Chemistry Magic Show
and Earth Month Festival Volunteer. She also volunteers with Blue
Monarch, an abuse and addiction program.
