GARRETT GARZA OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Round Rock, Texas, has been named the SCAC Field Athlete of the Week for meets held through Sunday March 25th.
Garza finished sixth in the shot put in a field of NCAA Division I competition at Rice University with a throw of 16.08 meters.
This mark is more than 7.5 feet further than any other SCAC thrower and is tied for second in the nation in Division III.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year Stephen Ford of Trinity University set a new personal record in the pole vault with a mark of 3.96 meters.
