TAYLOR CURTIS OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore outfielder from Bryan, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Week for games played Monday, February 1st through Sunday February 7th.
Curtis led the Pirates to a 2-0 start to the season after going 3-3 with two triples, a home run and 3 RBI in game one of a doubleheader against Southwestern Assemblies. She posted a .833 average and 2.0 SLG on the weekend.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior infielder Sophia Hernandez of Austin College got off to a strong start in 2016, batting .625 in two games to help the 'Roos open the year 2-0. Senior catcher Jennifer Gallagher of Texas Lutheran hit .455 and drove in eight as the Bulldogs opened the year with doubleheader sweeps of Texas Dallas and Mary Hardin-Baylor.
