LIZZIE HUBBARD
OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a senior defender from Hilton
Head Island, S.C., has been named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive
Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 19
through Sunday, October 25.
Hubbard has played an instrumental role in
solidifying the Colonels’ defense and in many instances
boosting their offense as well. Wednesday at Centre,
Hubbard recorded three shots and two S.O.G in the
Colonels’ 0-0 double-overtime tie with the College of Mount
Saint Joseph. For the match, Centre allowed only 9 shots.
Saturday afternoon at Maryville College (Tenn.),
Hubbard again contributed on both sides of the
ball. Offensively, Hubbard recorded two shots and
two S.O.G. Defensively, she helped the Colonels hold the Scots to
only one shot during the 2nd half of regulation play. With the 1-0
double-overtime win, Hubbard helped the Colonels earn their 10th
shut-out of the season.
