JIO CHANG OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore from Moraga, Calif., has been selected the SCAC Women's Swimmer of the Week for all meets through Sunday, December 11th.
Chang was instrumental in the Tigers' win over NCAA Division II Western State. After Western State won the first 5 events, Chang helped the team change the momentum by taking the win in the 200 fly (2:19.14), and starting CC on a five event win streak.
Late in the meet she won the 200 IM (2:15.58, her PR), to clinch the team win just before the relay. Chang was also second in the 500 free (5:28.99, season best).
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Sophie Garriga of Austin College had two individual first place finishes this past Wednesday in a dual meet against Lawrence University, winning the 50 backstroke (32.19) and the 100 IM (1:13.57).
