EMILY NIEHAUS OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, has been selected the SCAC Women's Field Athlete-of-the-Week for meets conducted through Sunday March 18.

Niehaus had a great start to the 2012 outdoor season at the Rhodes Open Meet this past Saturday by winning the women’s hammer throw with a mark of 172’11”; her best opening season mark in her career.

Niehaus also won the women’s shot put with a mark of 41’7.25” as well as placed fifth in the women’s discus throw with a mark of 122’5”.

Her distance in the hammer ranks her first in the nation in NCAA Division III through the performances this weekend.
