Rachel Krutz, Colorado College, Defensive Player of the Week (Week 1)

RACHEL KRUTZ OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior defensive specialist from Norman, Okla., has been named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Friday, February 12 through Saturday, February 13. 

Krutz, playing in her first matches since the 2018 SCAC Championship, averaged 4.13 digs per set in the two weekend victories over Schreiner. During Friday's five-set win, Krutz recorded a career-high 18 digs. She came back the following day with 15 in just three sets.

Other impressive performances in the SCAC:
Senior outside hitter Avery Tuggle of Trinity led the Tigers in digs for both matches of Saturday's doubleheader and extended her streak to seven-consecutive matches with double-digit digs, which started with the team's first matchup of the 2019 NCAA Championship Tournament semifinal run against Hunter College (NY). She also added a pair of blocks in the opening match Saturday to add to her defensive presence.
