ANNIE ROSE LEGGETT OF TRINITY UNIVERSIY, a senior outside hitter from Austin, Texas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Friday, February 12 through Saturday, February 13.
Leggett led the Tigers with 14 kills in each match of Saturday's doubleheader and added 13 and 11 digs in the morning and afternoon matches, respectively, to collect a pair of double-doubles. Her .600 attack percentage from the afternoon match is a new career-high when recording at least eight attack attempts. Leggett also posted a pair of blocks, one solo, in the second match to notch a 4.64 points-per-set mark.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year outside hitter Isabella Lipacis of Colorado College averaged 3.25 kills and 3.75 digs per set while leading the Tigers to a pair of victories at Schreiner on the opening weekend. During Friday's five-set victory, Lipacis led CC with 18 kills and 21 digs, and became the first first-year Tiger to post a double-double in her first collegiate match since Kristen Liberty recorded 11 kills and 12 digs in a three-set victory over Howard Payne in 2011. In Saturday's sweep of the Mountaineers, Lipacis had eight kills and nine digs.
