SCAC Women's Cross Country Recap - Week Three

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Four of the league's seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's cross country teams were in action this past week.

Among the second week highlights, and three of the top five finishers at the Texas Lutheran University Bulldog Invitational were SCAC runners.  

Texas Lutheran senior Sarah Fritzsche was the top female attached runner. She placed second overall, behind an Incarnate Word unattached runner, with a time of 19 minutes, 59.56 seconds. The Bulldogs took first place with a team score of 27.

University of Dallas' sophomore Bridget Kennedy and junior Angela Moore finished fourth and fifth, respectively, with times of 20:20.17 and 20:29.28. Moore's time was a PR by more than 10 seconds. The Crusaders placed second with a score of 41.

Senior Leah Wessler and sophomore Allysa Warling led the Colorado College women to an impressive second-place finish in the collegiate division at the Woody Greeno Invitational.
 
Each of CC's top five runners posted a season-best time for the 6K course. The Tigers finished behind Iowa Central Community College among the non-Division I schools. With 154 points, CC beat Division I and II teams from Nebraska-Omaha and Nebraska-Kearney. 

At the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Splash Invitational, freshmen Jessica Gaines and Devin Sanchez paced the Schreiner women as the Mountaineers finished third in the non-Division I race.
