BRIANNA TIMOURIAN OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore runner from Round Rock, Texas has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Saturday, October 10th.
Timourian paced Southwestern at the UIW Invitational this past Saturday in Live Oak, Texas, as the sophomore finished fifth overall in a field featuring Division I runners.
Timourian smashed the Pirates' 6K record by 26 seconds, as she navigated the course in 22:21.3. It marked the fastest 6K time by any SCAC runner this season.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Leah Wessler of Colorado College ran a 18:27 5k for a personal record at the Ft Hays University Tiger Invitational on October 10th.
